Zentangle art

ZenTangle Art

Before lockdown we started an art piece called zentangle art.
We had to base it on our school pepeha.

The Lighthouse

One part of our pepeha is the lighthouse. Last week we went on a lighthouse walk.
The walk was long but fun because there were lots of interesting creatures to see.
My favorite part of the walk was stepping over and dodging stones and rocks!
When we made it to the lighthouse we sang our school pepeha.
This is one of the zentangle art themes.

Moengaroa

During the lighthouse walk we passed Moengaroa, our monga.
Moengaroa is another part to our school pepeha.
When we passed it it looked huge.
I was so desperate to climb Moengaroa but we were not allowed.
This is another zentangle art theme.

Hamanatua

Hamanatua is a part of our pepeha and zentangle art.
Our awa is Hamanatua. We walk down to our awa about once a term.
In the area we usually plant plants and pick up rubbish!
Hamanatua is my favorite part of the art!

Te poho rari

Last but not least our marae. Te poho rari is our marae's name.
Last year we had a sleepover at our marae. We did lots of activities there like art.
For dinner we had nachos! Te poho rari is the last part of our zentangle art.

I can't wait to finish my zentangle art!

  2. Hi Ivy,
I like how you added information about your pepeha it reminded me of our trip to Te Poho Rari. Maybe you could add more information about how you made the art. What was your favorite part of making the art. There where some spelling mistakes other than that it was good post.

I like how you added information about the names of the pepeha. Maybe next time you could add in what they are like our awa in the hamanatua stream and the MOENGAROA are hills/ cliffs.
