Tabloids day

In week 9 we had a tabloids day. There were lots of different tabloids like apple bobbing, ball throw and many more but I am going to tell you about my three favorite tabloids. My first favorite tabloid was skittles. Skittles is a game that you either throw a ping pong ball or a tennis ball at three skittles. We had no skittles so we used plastic cups. My second favorite tabloid was sponge throw. Sponge throw is a game that is like ball throw and bean bag toss but instead you throw a wet sponge. You get a sponge, soak it in water and throw it into one of the three buckets. The last tabloid I will tell you about is gumboot throw. The aim of the game is to try to throw the gumboot further then your opponent's gumboot. And those were my favorite tabloids.

Marae trip

In week 8 we went to Te Poho o Rawiri marae for a sleepover. On Thursday our parents dropped us of at the marae. The people of the marae welcomed us into the marae and and talked about the history of Te Poho o Rawiri. After that we sat on the grass and had some morning tea. We had the food out of our lunch boxes. When we finished eating koka Teri rung a bell that meant we had to line up in group 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. When everyone was in a line we were told to go to a certain game. I had to go to hand ball first. Then we had lunch, went through a few more rotations then we went into the marae to set up our beds. We went to the place were we put our bags, took out our lunch box and drink bottle and brought our bags into the marae and put them at the bottom of our matrise. When we did that moana 2 and 3 set up our dinner tables. For dinner we had nachos and for dessert we had apples and ice blocks. After dinner we read a book in bed then did a performance in front of everyone. Then we went back to the marae and went to sleep.

My Digital Life

Today I was learning how to remove the background from a photo.
I enjoyed creating all of the images on slide 4.
I found it challenging to answer the questions on slide two.
My digital learning object shows all of the things that  I like to do online.
Next time I would change how fast I work.

24 Hour Footprint: Digital Map

Today we were learning about our digital footprint and how to get to our history. In our history we had a look at the past few days and put them in to this map. To get to your history you have to go ctrl H.

Quick write: My Wild and Wacky Creature

My wild and wacky creature has a long slim body packed with three layers of shiny blue scales that glisten in the sunlight.  It's see through spikes are as sharp as a shard of glass and as strong as titanium.  His fore strong legs have have razor sharp claws on the end of each foot that are as white as clean white snow and as big as a two meter tall chair.  His legs are different because he has the legs of a chicken. his tail is different to because it is not  a long thin tail it is a pompom.

  My wild and wacky creature has a two meter long neck with spikes perfectly lined up going down it's long neck.  His head has a long snout with jagged teeth and nostrils with smoke coming out of them.  It also has a long wet tongue with a split in the middle.  It's two huge horns are as yellow as the sun and are as sharp as mums kitchen knife.  It's wings has feathers as soft as a sheep's wool but as big as a move thertis tv and the color is light blue.  At the end of each wing there is a yellow horn only as big as two A4 pieces of paper.  The are as sharp as a giant pair of scissors cutting you with all of it's strength.

His eyes are blue when happy green when scared and red when angry they are probably as big as an elephants head.  It likes to eat pigs, sheeps and cows.  He sneaks up along the grass and then when hes close unuth he will pounce on whatever he's trying to get.  If his prey is flying he would fly a bit hide a bit fly a bit hide a bit fly a bit hide a bit until he is close anuth then he will pounce.  It's abilities are to roar, fly, dig, dive, make clouds and breath fire.  It likes to hide in bushes, trees and clouds.  He lives in an Australian jungle near a smoothly flowing river that once a day he would quietly go and have a drink.  And that's my wild and wacky creature.

Kiora my name is Ivy. I go to Wainui Beach School near Wainui Beach and I'm in room 1. In my family I have one dad, one mum, two brothers and 14 Pets. I have Wednesday -,she's a kitten, Malfoy -,he is also a kitten. I have Luke -,he's was a cat until he died and I also have chickens and 5 goldfish. I'm not sure what the goldfish are girls or boys but all the chickens are girls. I also have one itty bitty teeny tiny little dog and his name is Trey. I was born in Hamilton, New Zealand. My mum was born in Gisborne. My dad was born in Australia and both of my brothers were born in New Zealand.

At school I am good at art, gymnastics and writing. I enjoy art, swimming, annihilation and playing. Some stuff that challenge me at school are maths, I'm pretty good at reading though. Something else that is very challenging to me is just using the glue stick. My goals this year are to finish art quickly, tidy quickly and to colour in with no white.

This year I am looking forward to completing art on my drawing pad. I got it on my birthday this year. One of my personal achievements would be to make decisions faster and to tidy my room more often.

A Crazy Night at the Library

The New Kitten

"Meow meow."   "What's that noise?" I yelled as I rushed down the hall.  "Shhhhhhh, it's a new kitten."  "A new what?"  I ran into the room and there was a black fluffy kitten meowing inside of a cat cage.  "Where did it come from?" I asked.  "Ella Apirana  gave it to us." 
Her name was Wednesday.  She was black, with blue eyes but the special thing about her was that she had a pompom tail.  When mum let her out she dashed under the bed because she was so shy.

  At Wainui beach school I made a cat toy so I got it out and she started playing with it.  I played with her all day until dinner.  I had homemade chicken and after dinner she was in a playful mood so she hid under the couch and when I put my feet down she would pounce on my toes and start attacking them.  When I went to sleep Wednesday jumped on my bed and sat on my face.

In the morning when I was getting ready for school she was running from couch to couch.  Every time I saw her I wanted to play with her pompom tail.  I was so sad that I had to leave Wednesday but at least she's my cat and I get to see her after school.

The New Puppy

In the weekend I went to Whakatane with Link, Fox, Cristy and Jamie.  Before we got there we had to drive for two hours.  When we got there my nana told us that she had a surprise for us.  She opened a box and out popped a little puppy.  She had a dark brown head, a white body and a brown nose. we had to name the puppy so we called her Macy.  Macy was shy at first but when we started playing with her she wasn't shy anymore.  I was her favourite play buddy.

I played with the puppy for over an hour until we had to go bye toys for Macy.  We bought two squeaky toy dogs for her.  Nana said that the puppy came with the toy.  When we got back she straight away jumped on my lap.  Nana's other dog Merk played tug-o-war with the squeaky dog then Macy wanted to join in.

Every day after breakfast I would go outside to play with Macy.  She liked to chew on everything like shoes, rubbers, clothing, hair and stuffed toys.   When I went out for dinner Macy howled so much that we had to to take her in. It was ok to take her in, otherwise we would've left her in the car.  When we got back Macy had a play fight with Merk.  When I had to go back to my house in Gisborne, I was so sad because I missed Macy sp much.
